Photography Idol!

After a long break, I am back!  Our family moved from Charleston, South Carolina to Minnesota!  It has been an adjustment for us all, but we love our new home, neighbors and town!  I will be updating my blog soon, but wanted to jump at the chance for the opportunity to win Chic Critique's Photography Idol!  It would be a dream come true.  If you have never been to Chic Critique's site... go.  Immediately!  It is full of wonderful info and people!!

I recently did a shoot in downtown Charleston and this image just stood out to me.  I hope the judges like it too!  Wish me luck!!!

Black and White

Sometimes I take a picture and the eyes just speak to me.  I took this shot of my daughter the other morning before school and something about her eyes just spoke to my heart.  I love to turn a photo like this into black and white as it just becomes timeless.  I hope you like it too!  I am joining i heart faces for their black and white photo challenge!  Stop by there to see some gorgeous work!

Beautiful weather and family!

I had the best morning snapping pictures of the sweetest family!  Not only are they wonderful, but we couldn't have asked for better weather and the gorgeous colors of the leaves!  Sweet Little L is my daughter's best buddy and there is nothing like having two little ones hop out of a van and run to you giggling!  Now THAT is the way to start a photo session!  Enjoy the preview E family!

Sweet baby girl

I just finished a newborn shoot for a friend from my daughter's school.  Sweet baby E is the third little girl to join this family and what a blessing she is!  She was not happy to be undressed some of the time, but a space heater did the trick and she slept beautifully!  What a lucky little girl to be with a family that loves her so much and two big sisters who adore her!

I attended a class on Sunday where we had the honor of shooting a beautiful sweet boy.  He was 11 days old and just as precious as he could be.  Thank you Mom and Dad for driving a couple of hours and letting us learn all the tips and tricks for newborn photography!

I am involved with a local photography group that I love!  We went to a local beach in the morning and in the afternoon to get different types of lighting.  I love the images!

Welcome to my new blog!

I started Kathryn Anne Photography so I could live my dream.  I fell in love with photography on a trip to Europe in 1999 while trying to capture every moment of our trip.  My passion for photography grew by leaps and bounds in 2005 when God blessed my husband and me with our daughter.  I wanted to capture every essence of her being.  As she has grown, so has my ability to create the style of picture that I want.
